Helloooo and welcome to not only the amazing, brand spanking new website but the Comfizz blog too!
I’m Stephie, mum, wife and ostomate and if you don’t already know I write a blog over at Colitis To Ostomy which started as an online diary for me living with Ulcerative Colitis and my decision of having my ileostomy created. But it has become so much more than that now and I write about anything related to my life and being an ostomate. But my life in short, I started to get ill when I was around 10/11 but I wasn’t diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis till I was 13/14 it’s all a big blur now really. I felt I had exhausted my medication options so I opted for a Jpouch to be created in 2008 and it lasted until 2015 before Pouchitis took hold and I was being admitted into hospital again and my only options were medication (no way José!) or surgery. My stoma was created in April 2016 and I honestly haven’t looked back since.
I have to thank the team at Comfizz for asking me to be their resident blogger and Lauren over at the Purple Wings Charity for giving me the opportunity to meet Nozar to begin with. I appreciate the huge amount of faith you have in me and I hope to do you proud, anyway less of the mushy stuff!
I have spoken to some inspiring and fantastic Ostomates who are willing to share their stories which I will post in a series called *Lets Be OstoMATES* if you would like to participate please let us know! You can do this in the comments or via our social media’s. We will be doing question and answer posts on the products hopefully with videos to boot, so anything you are interested in knowing again please drop us a line. Also as Comfizz are such a small family business I thought it might be nice for people to ‘meet’ the staff in our “Getting To Know You” series, amongst more things we have in store! This blog is as much for you the readers as it is for us over at Comfizz HQ so please let us know if there are any topics you would like us to cover or discuss!
If you have any interest in being a guest blogger as we would appreciate other peoples perspectives on different aspects of ostmate or post surgery life please let us know. I know there is a lot of “drop us a line” or “let us know” but we sincerely love to hear from everyone and make this for everyone.
Can I take a moment to wish the big man a happy birthday as it was Nozar’s birthday this week (all the best people are born in January ha-ha!!)
Be sure to check out our next blog post which will be the first in the Let’s Be OstoMATE’s series.
