I met Terry last year at a local stoma open day and it was actually the first time I had heard of Peak Medical He also got the pleasure of getting baby Button cuddles! I asked him to join in with this interview series and he graciously accepted! Over to you Terry!
What company do you work for? Peak Medical Ltd
What is your job role? Territory Manager – promoting Peak Medical products and services, mainly in the North East, parts of Yorkshire and all of Scotland.
How long have you worked there? I have worked for Peak Medical for 3.5 years
How did you get into this job? I initially got into this job over 20 years ago; I was a courier driver for Amcare and I kept pestering them to let me become a part of the sales team.
Do you have any advice for someone who would like to this or something similar? Be a good listener, embrace it, enjoy it, Always remember the products we sell have a huge influence on the quality of life of someone.
How would you describe your job in three words? Fun. Fulfilling. Varied.
What is your favourite part of the job? Honestly there is quite a lot! No two days are the same. It’s a job which requires you to be proactive and reactive (it keeps you on your toes)I’m really lucky that I enjoy driving so much and I get to see some beautiful places. It makes up for the traffic jams (at least on my territory) I like talking and listening to people. I love it when I get feedback from a nurse or a patient telling me that a Peak product has improved the quality of someones life.
Is there any aspect you aren’t so fond of? Admin.
How do you think your colleagues would describe you? Without swearing??. Easy-going, friendly, tenacious.
Cake or pie? Pie, every time.
If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for life. What would it be? It can only ever be. “I Am The One And Only” by Chesney Hawkes. (Tongue firmly in cheek)
I have to admit I purposely chose the one song question for Terry as I knew he would come out with something that would make me smile and he definitely didn’t disappoint! I am also not a great lover of admin but for the most part it is a vital part of any job!
