A clinical study showed that support wear significantly reduced hernia risk and improved quality of life
A 12-month retrospective study looked at hernia incidence within Queens Hospital, London. before the trial, then again 12 months after the trial. Patients were advised to wear support wear in place of regular underwear. Education was also given about hernias and the risks. Over the time of the trial 80% of the participants complied and continued to wear support wear. When this population was analysed the results showed improved quality of life and far less incidence of hernias. Just one study but lots of promise.
