A 12-month retrospective study conducted at Queens Hospital, London examined hernia incidence before and after a 12-month trial period. Patients were advised to wear support wear in place of regular underwear, with education provided about hernia risks.
Over the trial period, 80% of participants complied with wearing support wear consistently. Results showed improved quality of life and significantly reduced hernia incidence in this population.
It's just one study, but the results are promising and demonstrate the potential benefits of proper support wear.
