We recently told you about our 10 days of self-care, which we are now starting with Day 1, running up to (and including) Day 10 which will be Friday 6th January 2023.
We hope you had a lovely Christmas and now, it's time for some you time every day for the rest of the year and to kick start your 2023.
Christmas food with a stoma
With Christmas being so close (it's Christmas Day in just a few days), it can be a time of anxiety and apprehension if you have an ostomy, especially if you're new to the ostomy world & this is your first ostomy Christmas.
Daily routines change & everything gets mixed up, you forget what day it is & can find the changes hard, especially trying to navigate them with a stoma.

What have you learnt about your ostomy in the last year?
You may worry about how life will change following surgery. For me I was in chronic pain, living off a ridiculous amount of painkillers, and trying to make it through each day wishing the surgery would come yesterday. I was hoping to be able to reduce the pain killers and be able to walk without being in pain.
